May 24-25
Overshot Coverlet Weaving Class with Freda Peisley
May 24 and/or 25, 10:00 am-3:00 pm
Alling Coverlet Museum, 122 William St., Palmyra
$65 for one day, $140 for both days
Spend the day weaving on different overshot patterns on set up looms. You will take home the samples you weave, the paperwork for the pattern, and the inspiration to weave on your own. Please bring your lunch. This class will take place on Fri, May 24 and/or Sat, May 25, 10 am-3 pm each day. It costs $65 for each day and includes one sample per day ($130 for the weekend).

Spinning Flax and Silk with Freda Peisley

$40 for one class, $80 for both classes
Spinning was a daily chore just a few generations ago. Today people are finding spinning a wonderful craft and love making yarns for their weaving and knitting. Bring your own wheel and spend a few hours perfecting your skills with two different fibers. Sat, June 8, 10 am-12 pm will be the class Spinning Flax into Linen and 1 pm-3 pm will be the class Spinning Silk. Each of the classes will cost $40 and includes all supplies other than the wheel, $80 for both classes. Please bring your lunch if you register for both classes.

Heritage Weekend
June 14-15, 11 am-4 pm
Begin your tour at the Historical Museum, 132 Market St., Palmyra
This Heritage Weekend, visitors will find themselves in 1826 in the Queen of Canal Towns. Join costumed docents as you explore the five museums on Historic Palmyra's Trail Pass. Palmyra was the 3rd busiest port in 1826 and the museums will be waiting to share that era of Palmyra, as well as of course the history from the surrounding years as well. This special weekend is part of New York State's Path Through History Weekend.

No charge
Complimentary tours of all museums with grand opening of new exhibits. Ice cream will follow your tour at the Alling Coverlet Museum, 122 William St., Palmyra.

August 6-8
Digging Up Your History: Archaeology Camp
August 6-8, 12 pm-3 pm
Meet at the Historical Museum, 132 Market St., Palmyra
$5/person per day, $15 for all 3 days
Children will have the opportunity to take part in a real archaeological dig in the yard of the museum. Age 7-15, adults welcome too. Supplies provided, bring your lunch.

August 9
Pirate Whitley Ghost Walk and Hunt
August 9, 8-10:30 pm
Meet at the Alling Coverlet Museum, 122 William St., Palmyra
$15/person
This walking tour (approx. 1/2 mi.) gives you the chills and thrills in the darkened streets of Palmyra. The tour will be followed with ghost hunting in two of our museums. Bring a flashlight.

August 10
Historic Palmyra's Erie Canal Pirate Weekend at the Museums
August 10, 10 am-4 pm
Begin your tour at the Historical Museum, 132 Market St., Palmyra
All museums open from 10 am-4 pm at discounted pirate pricing: $2 per museum, $5 trail pass, no charge for children 15 and under. Historic Palmyra's Haunted History. Live and dead pirates, skulls, and treasures suitable for the younger and older folks. Don't forget to pick up some pirate gear from our sales table! Stories told by Bloody Mary in the yard of the Historic Museum, 132 Market St., and free to all, 12:30 pm and 3:30 pm.

Historic Ghost Walk and Hunt

Meet at the Alling Coverlet Museum, 122 William St., Palmyra
$15/person
Take a stroll through the Village and hear the haunting history of Palmyra, then make your way to the Palmyra Historical Museum and Phelps General Store and watch for the spirits of the museums. Bring a flashlight. Groups welcome.

Paranology at Historic Palmyra
August 31, 5 pm-12:30 am
Meet at the Alling Coverlet Museum, 122 William St., Palmyra
$75/person
Learn about paranormal investigations from start to finish with paranormal veteran investigator Matthew J. Haas. The night begins at 5 pm with a 2 hr class on Paranology. This class covers a variety of aspects of paranormal investigation, including methodology, ideology, critical thinking, researching public records, equipment, and dangers/risks. The class will be followed by dinner. At 7:45, participants will begin a walk through the buildings that will be hunted to learn some of the history of the location. From 8:30 until 12:30, participants will then hunt alongside Matthew Haas and his team! This provides a great opportunity to apply the lessons from the Paranology class.

Murder, Mystery, and Tragedy Tour

Meet at the Alling Coverlet Museum, 122 William St., Palmyra

This special tour, given by our history experts on Friday the 13th, will allow you to join the spirits of tragedy as you journey through Palmyra's dark past. Many haunting tales will be told on this unique walk. Bring a flashlight.

Sibyl's Birthday Party
October 5, 6:30-9:30 pm
Phelps General Store, 140 Market St., Palmyra
Sibyl was a spiritualist for more than 50 years. You may see a guest show up from time to time that just doesn't seem real. This party, held in her honor, will feature psychics and mediums giving private readings and two gallery readings.
Cost is $20 for the party and a private reading, $10 for party only. Two gallery readings will also be held at the Alling Coverlet Museum, 122 William St., at 8 and 9 pm, $20/person for either.

October 12
Historic Palmyra's Famous Cemetery Walk
October 12, 6:30 and 8 pm
Meet at Roger's Chapel, 272 Vienna St., in the Palmyra Cemetery
Adult tickets are $15/person and children (6-16) are $10, must be accompanied by an adult.
An amazing journey into the land of the dead. You won't want to miss this! Mark your calendars and save the date! This is also a part of New York State's Path Through History Weekend.

Historic Palmyra's Homestead Holiday Candlelight House Tour
December 7, 4-8 pm
Begin your tour at the Historical Museum, 132 Market St., Palmyra.
$25/pre-sale, $30 at-the-door
This tour through homes in the Village of Palmyra will bring you to many historic homes dating throughout the 1800s. You will see two of our museums. Join us for festive décor, food, fun, friends, and a handmade gift.
