Did you know Palmyra has some amazing women? Do you want to learn about Dr. Harriet Adams, Clarissa Hall Jerome, Lavinia Chase, Harriett Hyde Sexton, Anna Webster Eaton, and Sibyl Phelps along with other women of the region such as the Fox Sisters? Join us this Women's History Month!

Underground Railroad Walk and Program

This program includes a walk around the village, discussing the sites of the UGRR, as well as a program to follow. Learn about the role Palmyra played in the Underground Railroad.

Steak Dinner Fundraiser

Author, paranormal investigator, minister, and Paratalkradio host, Ted Van Son, will be joining us to present his new book written with Keith Spratley: Flashlight, Recorder and Comfortable Shoes: A simple guide to Paranormal Investigation.

Heritage Weekend
June 16, 10:30 am-4:30 pm
Join costumed docents as you explore the five museums on Historic Palmyra’s Trail Pass. For this special weekend, you may meet the family of Winston Churchill, workers from the building of the canal, E.B. Grandin, or even the Phelps family operating their store! Visitors will also be able to visit the grand opening of several new exhibits: the Gallup Bridge diorama and Erie Canal Boat mural in the Erie Canal Depot and the Griffith Exhibit in the Alling Coverlet Museum.

Yard of the Historical Museum, 132 Market St., Palmyra.
Stop by and pick up a few treasures! This fundraiser helps support all of our museums so be sure to stop by!

Digging Up Your History: Archaeology Camp
August 7-9, 11 am-3 pm
Meet at Historical Museum, 132 Market St., Palmyra
$5/person per day
Ages 7-15, adults welcome too. Supplies provided, bring your lunch.

Pirate Whitley Ghost Walk and Hunt
August 10, 8-10 pm
Alling Coverlet Museum, 122 William St., Palmyra
$10/person
This walking tour gives you the chills and thrills in the darkened streets of Palmyra. From Market St. to E. Main St. we will discuss the darker side of Palmyra's history. One hour will be a ghost walk and one hour of ghost hunting. Bring a flashlight.

Ghostly Excursions at Historic Palmyra
August 11, 7 pm-1 am
$60/person, 20 person limit

A special event will be hosted by Gina Bengtson and Bob Christopher of Ghostly Excursions. Join them as they hunt our 5 museums and see the newest equipment in action. Historic Palmyra's Erie Canal Pirate Weekend at the Museums
August 11, 11-4 pm
All museums open from 11 am-4 pm at discounted pirate pricing: $2 per museum, $5 trail pass, no charge for children 15 and under.
Historic Palmyra's Pirate Whitley's Haunted Cave. Live and dead pirates, skulls and treasures suitable for the younger and older folks.
Stories told by Bloody Mary in the yard of the Historical Museum, 132 Market St., and free to all, 12:30 pm and 3:30 pm.

Historic Ghost Walk and Hunt
August 25, 8-10 pm
Meet at the Alling Coverlet Museum, 122 William St., Palmyra
$10/person
Take a stroll through the Village and hear the haunting history of Palmyra, then make your way to the Palmyra Historical Museum and Phelps General Store and watch for the spirits of the museums. Bring a flashlight.

September 14
Murder, Mystery, and Tragedy Tour
September 14, 8:30-11 pm
Meet at the Alling Coverlet Museum, 122 William St., Palmyra
$15/person
This special tour will allow you to join the spirits of tragedy as you journey through Palmyra's dark past. Many haunting tales will be told on this unique walk. Bring a flashlight.

Sibyl's Birthday 
October 6, 6:30-9:30 pm
Phelps General Store, 140 Market St., Palmyra
Cost is $20 for the party and a reading, $10 for the party only.
Sibyl was a spiritualist for more than 50 years. You may see a guest show up from time to time that just doesn't seem real.
Two gallery readings will also be held at the Alling Coverlet Museum, 122 William St., from 8-10 pm. $20/person for either.

October 13
Historic Palmyra's Famous Cemetery Walk
October 13, shows at 6:30 and 8 pm
Meet at Roger's Chapel, 272 Vienna St, in the Palmyra Cemetery
Adults: $16/person, 2 for $24; Children: $8 accompanied by an adult
An amazing journey into the land of the dead. You won't want to miss this! We will be having a special theme this year which promises a cemetery tour like no other we've ever done!

Historic Palmyra's Homestead Holiday Candlelight House Tour
December 8, 4-8 pm
Begin your tour at the Historical Museum, 132 Market St., Palmyra
$25/person pre-sale, $30 at-the-door
This tour through the Village of Palmyra will bring you to many historic homes dating throughout the 1800s. You will also see two of our museums. Join us for festive decor, food, fun, friends, and a handmade gift.
